i faced the same problem too. 1 to 5 minutes games definitely not for me because i am a slow thinker. when i tried 10 min games it worked out quite well. my advise is try to select the game time which suits you best. you'll see the difference

I too was a slow thinker. I used to hate 15 minute game. On chess.com i play 30 minute games only now. And it has made an effect. Even one win can lift your confidence greatly !

No, I think it's because I am a little burnt out. It's like I am finding distractions all over that pulls me away from the game.... Eh!
I feel the same, it is stronger than me :when I see the red number on the moving hand I have to move soon as possible to make it disappear, it's stronger than me. The worst is that in this way I loose a lot of games and my self -esteem goes down. Sometimes, often, I resign all my games because I do not want to fight and I feel so bad...

Best advise: do not play blitz with an ego. None of you can play worth a damn, so why sweat it? We will never approach Bobby Fisher, Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, or Muhammed Ali--so lighted up assholes. Nobody cares how you do in blitz so why should you. Just enjoy the hell out of it--what a blast to go to war and not care! It's only chess for God'ssake! If your ass is puckered because you get beat you are stupid--you are putting too much value on that which does not matter. High chess is for the genius--the rest of us are lowly humanoids. Chess.com is the best site in the world and gives us a chance for hours of inconsequential entertainment. So lighten up or see a therapist, priest, or find a supporting woman/man. When you get to 2800 then you can be the "heavy" I met Fisher in '72 immediately after Spaskey's collapse. He wanted to talk to me about religion--not chess--so go figger!
I really like your advices, even if they aren't new to me, I know what is wrong with my attitude, but it's not easy to change. Sorry for my english, it's not easy to express my feelings in a language that it's not mine...Thank you for your reply, anyway...

You are absolutely right blowartist. I built an ego cause I got on a winning streak for a small time frame then I lose felt but hurt, and lost some more because of it! Distractions started to become my excuse because just like you said. I built an undiserving ego. Wow thanks! That actually makes me want to play threw the bad times believe it or not.

I have a horrible losing streak going on. Any tips on dealing with it. Personally, I feel like it's a lack of caring. I play too fast, I do not give enough time to consider what the opponent is planing. It's almost like I don't care. I do care, but far too much effert to give it the time and detailed attention that a noob like me needs to give it. Err! Frusterating!
Once again: Play more long games and less blitz. It takes a while to put together a losing streak of 45+45's and even if you do, you're going to learn a ton. Nothing's learned from losing 12 blitz games in a row.
