This does happen - primarily at lower levels. It is a shame that it happens, and you should always report them after the game. Remember that stalling like this is indeed against the rules.
I would put on a video in the background or go to a chore while you wait for your opponent to make a move, resign, or run the time out.
Hi, I am a new chess player, playing mainly 20min games. In my limited number of games I've had several opponents that try a trap opening and when it doesn't work out for them they just afk, probably waiting for me to resign/quit. Has anyone else experienced this? What can I do about this?
