How to earn Trophies?

How do I earn trophies? I only got one trophy (the welcome to chess.com one).

Do I earn from winning games?

That's not true, Iv'e got a zillion, and I'm not pleasant

You can try doing a few things you're not proud of...

To be more specific... trophies are given to you by other chess.com members when they feel you've done something noteworthy :) You don't get them automatically except for the x year anniversary ones.

i.e. I just sent you a "Have a Hamburger" trophy :)

You also can get trophies from placing in tournaments.

I think it defaults to giving trophies but custom ones can be set up. I was in one tournament that only had a custom trophy for 1st place. Maybe in that case the other places don't get trophies.

The one I have shows it came from the site, so I assume that means it is automatic if nothing special is done with the tournament setup.

Also, looking at your states, you haven't received 1st-3rd place in any tournaments; if that is right, then it makes sense you haven't received a trophy.

Recently, I was awarded a trophy by a very nice American chap for being a good sportsman.

I have been given 3 trophies to date by players that I have played against.

By making more accounts and giving yourself trophies.

I don't do this. Cough.

I find the most sure-fire method is to beat the tar out of my opponents. I also send them when I am crushed.

Cheat in live and someone might send you the fish.

Another way is to resign lost games. Lots of people give you Good Sportsmanship trophies for that.

I got an ironic one from a pal - the soccer one - after my team lost.

I got 15 trophies but I don't know how?
