How to eliminate weaknesses in chess [over 2200]

My fide rating ranges from 2100 to 2200 and I want to become a National Master.

I have been trying for years to break 2200, but I failed several times.

I have tried to train in different ways like studying GM games slowly (by guessing the next move in order to first force me to think about the position), studying GM games fast (to improve patterns recognition), studying my own games (to understand my own's weaknesses).

Nothing seems to work.

It's been years that I am stucked at this level.

But now I want to try to train in another way. I will study my own games, spot my weaknesses and make a plan to actually eliminate them.

In the past I was content with just spot my weaknesses in order to be more wary on the chessboard when similar situations arised, but I noticed that I am always inclined to repeat my mistakes nevertheless.

I want to ask to players with a rating above 2200 if they tried a similar approach and if it worked ?

Did you try to actively fight against wour weaknesses or you limited yourself to just spot them ?

The thing is , that there are some kind of weaknesses that are difficult to find a plan against.

For example, I recently noticed that if I am better for most of the game and the opportunity to gain a pawn arises, I tend to take it like if it was the logical outcome of my superior play. It can be wrong tough.

For this last example, what would you do ?

Another weak point that I have is that I can not play against Tal's like players. Not normal rational attacking players, but the crazy ones (that can do anything for initiative).

Here I think that I should study some games where defence won against the attack.
