How to find replacement pieces

I am getting back into chess after quite a length of time. I dusted off my old chess computer and discovered I am missing two pieces. The computer is a Saitek Kasparov Blitz. I am unable to find anywhere on the web to get a new set. Does anyone have a suggestion?

These are often for sale on a popular auction site. Search for "chess computer".

The problem is I can’t find it available anywhere. The Kasparov Blitz uses Hall effect sensory, so the pieces are very specific to the board. It’s very fun to play. I guess my only hope is that someone out there has a set with a board that no longer functions. They post the pieces on eBay I’d buy them in a heartbeat!

Thanks! I didn’t think of an auction site. Any recommendations on a popular one?

if it's only two pieces then you could use a couple of counters or monopoly pieces as a replacement.

Although I do not make replacement plastic pieces just wood and bone. I am sure there are some craftsmen around who can do this sort of thing. As far as the Hall effect component is concerned I should think it would be available at Radio Shack or online

If it is hall effect sensors, then you can use any magnetic pieces with the right magnetic pole orientation.  E.g. take any piece from a travel set and if the magnetic pole is wrong, just open it up and flip the magnet.  Hall effect sensors are very sensitive so probably any travel set will work.

Probably not relevant to anyone now, but I had the same problem.

Magnets do not trigger the sensors, at least not any magnet I have tested. The original pieces have aluminium washers inside. I found that aluminium foil with enough mass will trigger the sensors reliably.

I bought a set of cheap plastic pieces from Amazon, stuffed the bases with lead, secured aluminium discs to the bases and then covered that with felt.

They feel 'premium' and work flawlessly.
