There are countless videos, articles, blogs, etc out there. In the beginning it would be good to try to collect all the basics. I'll just give some general classifications.
Areas of interest for a chess student:
- Opening
- Strategy
- Tactics
- Endgame
- Annotated game collection
Types of activities:
- Playing games
- Analysis (your games or other's)
- Study (book, video, or other. Be sure to interact by trying to analyze / taking notes, etc.)
- Drills (tactic puzzles, reviewing learned openings, reviewing learned endgames)
