Nah. Just play. People think it’s crazy calculation but it’s actually game awareness. I can say this as 2200+

Often not blundering and spotting your opponent's blunders plus knowing some basic techniques can be enough.

In blitz you have to learn and use a lot of tricky openings/gambits and play a lot to increase speed.

In rapid you have to have serious openings 5-10 moves and read and play through a few good books about middle and end game.

It’s not this. There’s truth that tactics and pattern recognition helps a ton and there’s even a case that players under 2000 should keep tactics as their main focus (or at least one of their main focuses), but there’s so much more to chess than just tactics. You’re extremely unlikely to reach 2000+ rating with just “crazy tactics.” You’ll also need a really strong understanding of basic theoretical endgames, some positional understanding (pawn structures, weak squares etc.), as well as even some openings. I say that last one because many people claim openings are not important. I strongly disagree. “Opening theory” may not be as important for some levels, but having poor opening habits (not developing pieces efficiently, not controlling the center, etc.) will make chess unnecessarily difficult on yourself and chess is difficult enough. You’ll have to learn a bit from all aspects of chess for your best chance at reaching 2000+ rating on chess.com
