Chess is a classic strategy game ,that requires a tactical and mindset preparation and knowledge.
The first step in chess is to learn the movement of all your pieces (figures).
Next you need to pay attention to the 3 main aspects of the game , that is the in game development itself .
Chess game has 3 phases . 1-Early phase (Opening) 2-Mid game and 3-end game .
By improving each of these phases , you improve your chess quality and strength .
Let's start with the first phase - The opening .
The opening gives you opportunity to gain an early advantage in the game .
The idea of the different openings ,provides you a different strategies and styles for the middle game .
What it means is, if you're about to go aggressive at the opening and try to control the central part of the board ?
Or you can try to go for more defensive opening styles by making earlier castle and developing your major figures close to your king , the idea of which is precise defensive play, with ideas to counter attack at the later phases of the game.
The next phase is the mid game , where the most of the blunders happening .
To prevent the blunders, you should position your pieces on the board the way they defend each other and everything is defended !
If you did not manage to gain advantage out of your opening phase , you still have that opportunity in the mid game and the end game .
How?
Behind each of your moves should be an idea. Each of your moves should make some sense.
You should aim only for a strong , precise , accurate moves that puts any kind of pressure in your opponent structure ( pins , double attacks ,pressuring the opponent weak zone on the board ,doubling the rooks on open file , etc. ) .The more such moves you find
on the board , the greater advantage you gain during the process .
The third phase is the end game . That's the moment where you should search for a check/mate or pawn promotion.
Other valuable lessons during the game :
Develop your major pieces early (knights ,bishops) , try to win the center , keep your queen undeveloped during the first 10 moves , because bringing your queen out early makes her vulnerable to attacks and by trying to save her ,
you losing tempo moves to your other pieces . Try to not move any piece more than once during the early game , because that makes you lose tempo as well . Don't rush exchanges that are not serious threat to your early and middle game overall position , instead let the opponent take first , because that develops further your other pieces .
Try to keep as much material as possible on the board , because that gives you more attacking opportunities in the process .
And last but not at least be cautions to your opponent ideas and opportunities , so you have the chance to defend properly or counter attack those ideas.
Good Luck !
