how to increase board visualization

any exersizes you can do that legit help? its extremly hard for me to calculate even a few moves ahead for just one variation alot of the time, and often times i have this problem where after i make the move is when i will see the better move even after all that thinking which is annoying,....its just very hard for me to see things without actuaLLY moving the pieces

Try playing blindfold, without worrying about dropping pieces or finishing an entire game.  The further you can go along in a game without seeing the board whatsoever from move 1, it only stands to reason you will be better  able to visualize in games where you can actually see the board.

And, it really is good advice for online chess as well as OTB.  "it" being the line that needs to be followed or the best move at that moment (that at least avoids blundering).

Relying on 'seeing' the consequences only by physically moving the piece or pawn, puts you at a HUGE handicap, and sets you up for countless blunders.

LuvsGorillas, I'm not clear if you're talking about Online/turn-based chess or OTB/Live - do you have the same problem in both?

I just play online chess and tatics. I win higher ranked members and loses with lower scrored people, my problem is, i play too fast. I my self says to slow and think twice or thrice before i move. but i never could. This is my problem, Just think why opponent move the piece and where the week point of opponent.

find silman's books for beginners and amateurs. do what he says.
