how to invite a friend to play

hey,

i'm trying to invite a friend to play live chess, but when i click on :challenge to play" the only option is for an online game. can anyone tell me how to invite someone who is online but i can't see him/her on "friends" when i have a game open? is it even possible?

You have to log-in to Live Chess first:

http://www.chess.com/livechess/myhome

Click on the "Play Live Chess" button.

Your friend will also have to be logged into Live Chess for you to see them in your Friends tab.  Once you can see their username, right click and you can then Challenge to a Game.  Or you can click on the link for "Play".
