How to move a pawn

do it move in a "L" also why is the rook so good it's the best
No...it captures sideways, on the first move you can move 2 places forward, otherwise one move forward, and it can promote....the knight moves in a "L"...the best piece is depending on the position, but usually the queen is pretty good, and well the king is the most important.

First of all, pawn don’t capture sideways - they capture diagonally. Secondly, OP is 1000 so I’m pretty sure that they know how the pieces move.
