Look for threats and captures (any forcing move in general) and look at all the squares your opponent's last move changed. This means squares the new piece attacks, any uncovered attacks, and all the squares it left behind.
To practice spotting forcing moves and undefended / weak pieces solve tactic puzzles regularly.
How to practice tactical vision?

Thank you! I'll get right on that
I'm your average player (I'm unrated, but I would guess I'm around 1400)
I'm pretty okay in slow and quiet games that take up to 2 minutes per move, but crumble in pressure if given little time.
It takes me time to think through moves, because I consantly get lost on what I should think through or what I should observe on every move, so I frequently make blunders.
Any tips or things that I have to ask myself before moving? I can play a good opening, but play badly in the middlegame.
Help me out? I think chess is really fun and I'm passionate; so I want to get better.
