How to punish people who forget the fried liver attack.

Though a lot of people know about this, I have decided to let more lower rated people to know about this, Many people in bullet or blitz play Nf6 in a hurry. This sacrifice will get you a pawn up and a significant advantage in the position. However this might not work with high rated players. The suitable range for this is 1000 - 1399

I myself have sometimes been caught in this trap. I would like to call this the fried liver gambit cos we are sacrificing the knight. Dont get me wrong if it is already named after something cos i dont know. I just wanted to spread ideas about this trap. If there are any variations after Nf6 from black please let me know...

What if black doesn‘t play 6...Nxd5, but instead b5, Na5 or Nd4? Then you have a piece less with little compensation

Jonathan, even in some daily puzzles, thr is an alternate move which can prevent checkmate or piece loss. Just sometimes..

So in this position low rated players tend to capture the free pawn, which turns the game opposite to them.

even in todays puzzle, instead of capturing the knight we could have moved the queen and lose the rook rather than losing the queen

Wait...so this is the crazy attack that I always fall for!!! How can one successfully stop this if you are black?

So as I said lower rated players usually tend to capture this pawn, like me when i was a 1200-1300

This is not the fried liver. Black is making the most stupid moves possible, why does he hang the knight?

This is the Guioco Piano. I usually play this..

This  mostly leads to a win when you are white and chances of draw when you are black. (It depends on how you play, if you play like a higher rated player against a high rated player, it gives a equal opening for both the players)

I also like the Ruy Lopez and Sicilian.

Are you saying this for real? I hope not

In #1 and #9 having read #12
black does not play 6. ... Nxd5

@Alltheusernamestaken @cyboo
In OP's samples black plays the paradoxical 6. ... b5

In #13 sample, I am with Ben Finegold
black is nuts to play 3. ... Nf6 and white is nuts to play 4. Ng5

Ironically, you've forgotten the Fried Liver Attack. You've given the sac on f7 without the necessary 5.exd5 first. Sacrificing the knight immediately in this way loses for white.

I just meant it for lower rated players. And Im happy to have a Cm in my forum post! Lower rated players tend to take the knight because they think it is valuable

Somewhere on the forms they say “Never Teach Fried Liver Attack” and I have been wondering why they say that? Here we are teaching each other to remember it.

I always take the knight. Should I not? Help! Fall for this crazy attack by white every time. I am black...
Avatar of Checkmate_06

Just play Bc5 and dont put the knight Nf6

Bc5 which move?

What about 6.../Na5 instead of 6.../Nxd5? known as a bad move ?
