So I read some comment here a few months ago about how I should not bother with reading or learning theory before getting to 1000 elo. Now that I have got here how should I go about getting higher. I dont know exactly know any openings (1 in black ,1 in white just the structure no depth) and kinda feel like most of my wins are not by outplaying my opponents with tactics but rather them blundering. maybe I could be suggested books, youtube playlists or just general advice. Thanks!

Irving Chernev's "Logical Chess: Move by Move" presents a number of games and explains the reason behind every move.

I second “Logical Chess: Move by Move”. It is written for beginners, and is easy to read. Very helpful in explaining ideas and plans.

Also, the “Winning Chess” books by Yasser Seirewan are aimed at beginners and are a good first step for learning.
