How to stop tilting in USCF?
"Game ain't over until it's over" Run by this. Gotta keep calculating until the very end and evaluating until the game is done.
I hustled a 2100+ 2200 almost. He was up a pawn in an endgame but I moved like in 10 seconds each move and got his time to like 5 min and i had 50 min and he blundered a pawn and it was equal. but I couldnt find a idea so I spent 50 minutes on a move I had though of 50 minutes ago. he already calculated it, and we blitzed it out but I fell for a trap.
Best to practise walking in straight lines while you're at home, rather than in public. Also remember not to walk along, leaning over to one side, so people won't think you're naturally tilted. Always remember that a tilted player is not a titled player. On the different subject of losing points, it happens about as often as people gain points. However, it has a lot in its favour these days, because you get to use the word "tilted", which shows how cool you are.
Back in the day, the word "cool" was thought to be cool in just the same way that other words are meant to convey the same thing today. Now it's possible to use the word "cool" ironically, which goes over most ppl's heads, the word "cool" has actually become cool. Just as tilted might be one day! ![]()

@kleong12 u should seriously stop playing down and im sure u will get 1900+ back
I don’t play down I play in my section but everyone plays up so basically I do play down yes
So over 3 OTB tournaments and 12 games, I’ve tilted 79 rating points in USCF regular rating. I’ve analyzed my games and they seem to mostly be good, but I just can’t stop going down. I have a big tournament soon and want to turn this around. Any tips? (Preferably from those higher rated than me)
I can help you!! If your games look basically ok but you're losing at your own level, you've lost the will to win. I mean by that the insane obsession that you must win, which makes your heart beat wildly when you're in a dodgy position. Which fills you full of paranoia when you see that threatening move snake towards your king. Which, above all, means that you HAVE TO WIN!
I think so anyhow, just from what happened to me years ago.
In other words, you decided in your own mind that it was just good to be playing again. Worse things have happened than losing, thousands have died from Covid, it's just good to be playing again. With an attitude like that, you don't win when it's necessary. I do know what I'm talking about. I've won a lot of otb tournaments in my time.

Nice I will take that advice
