"... You should prepare your repertoire according to your own chess tastes and style. ..." - GM Artur Yusupov (2008)
How to tell if someone is a tactical or a positional player?

Another good way to tell if a person is aggressive is if, as soon as you castle, they start moving every single one of their pieces to the side where your king is!
In one word...Wrong.
Sorry, I meant to phrase that better. It sounds like I'm saying that ANY aggressive player would do that(which, of course, is completely wrong). If players do that, then it means they are aggressive, and also very stupid!
Stop...you just keep digging a deeper hole.

What can you except from a 1100 player? But yes, reading my own comments, I am speechless about my stupidity. Why am I even trying?
lol...Youre not stupid. Youre just stuck in that mentality of having to label everything. Yea...Yea...I know it sounds cool to use labels like: "Tactical" "Aggressive" "Positional" "Strategy" etc. But honestly at your level, and even at my level the only "style" we have is called Blundering. I just don't do it as often as you do :-) Quit worrying about having to label everything, and concentrate on getting better at the game.
I cracked 2100 in over the board play and I asked this same question to a 2300 and he said that we were all to weak to define ourselves by a style. Even sharping openings can lead to positional games and positional openings can lead to sharp play.
