I want to unlock the achievement "train your brain' which gets unlocked when you attempt a drill. I have attempted numerous drills but it is not unlocking.

There are a few achievements that are broken. As far as I'm aware, all the drill ones are.

To get 'Train Your Brain' achievement, all you need to do is go to chess.com/drills and complete a drill https://www.chess.com/blog/aviation18/how-to-get-the-train-your-brain-achievement
