How would one avoid Blunders?

Sometimes I see myself making the most stupid blunders out there, and I didn’t seem to realize. Does anyone have any tips?

What is your definition of a blunder? I'm going to assume that at your rating it's simply either leaving a piece hanging, moving a piece to be taken for free, moving a piece that allows your opponent to take another piece for free, or missing a basic mate in 1?

have you watched john bartholomew’s “chess fundamentals: undefended pieces” video and series yet?

as i still make way too many catastrophic blunders it is a curse i have trouble with as well

and as i play the game more and more the “undefended pieces” issue gets more subtle and many games can start to go downhill if i happen to leave even a pawn undefended- if even at the end of some kind of variation

one issue i have always struggled with is when i am going over moves, ideas, threats , opponents threats, etc and am “in that place” in my thought process i find i often “move too soon”- before i “leave” my analysis thinking and return to examination if the current position of the board

this game is hard

my 2 cents would be dont rush and always try to determine/recognize opponents threats
