I don't subscribe to the whole humiliation thing on here.  chess is great for its amazing victories and devastating defeats.  If you play enough chess and judging by your rating you are not a prodigy you will likely have such games in your future.  Your opponent had his queen prancing about early and you sharply reminded him of the game fundamentals of doing so.  If I felt embarssed or self conscious of each mistake I made I'd likely not play much chess.  Never underestimate you lower rated foes, lest you be cast in the pit of shame! Yell

Which game or opening are you referring to?

Do you mean 1. e4 d5 2. Nc3?

That leads into a superior (for Black) Caro-Kann type position, without Black having wasted a move on 1. ... c6.

I guess its kind of rude, Sangwin, lets just call it a good victory :D

Live is for fun, i started playing online. I think that will be my main rating

1. e4 d5 2. exd5 nf3. That position, what should i do then?

You mean 2. ... Nf6.

White has lots of options... just don't try to hang onto the Pawn with 3. c4.

3. d4 Nxd5 4. c4 is probably the main-line.

As an example of "true confessions", here's a game where I (a 2100 player, mind you) missed a simple two-move win. And I was LOOKING for it!

nice, but i dont get it why black does : 9...Kf8    ?

The only embarrassing thing was that you missed a mate in 1 on move 10.
