I accidently hit the resign button!

Sort:
DarkGrisen

I accidently hit the resign button and I didn't even look at the button. All I did was going out of focus mode and then I accidently hit the resign button. It should atleast ask if I really want to resign after I hit the resign button. If it has happened once that someone has resigned by accident you guys should definetly think about improving the UI/UX.

My point in short:

Make it "harder" to resign so you don't accidently hit the resign button and loose the game by accidently hitting the resign button.

Thanks!

I've done it too.  I agree, an "are you sure button" after the initial resign button would prevent accidental resignations.

There is a tick or a cross after you select resign.

or you could slow down and pay attention.

True.

Why is everyone so rude. I'm sure people have accidently clicked on something. Have you guys ever seen a popup window (Alert Dialog) that says something like "Are you sure you want to do this?" when you hit a button?

Wasn't an accident. That was the subconscious mind in action telling you to quit chess because nobody over the age of 10 should invest so much time in a children's board game.

Look at your own rating. I had a good laugh when I saw it.

The moving finger writes, and having writ, moves on.  Not all your piety nor wit shall lure it back to cancel half a line, nor all your tears wash out a word of it.

Your comment makes no sense. Don't go off-topic please.

Why can't they just have it say 'are you sure you want to resign?' window after you click it. I tried to offer a draw once and accidentally resigned

there's an option for a confirmation every time you make a move so why not just do that for the resign button.

So you accidentally hit the resign button. I bet you won't do that again, lesson learned. Next subject please.

I agree that it should ask if you really want to resign, as it does in daily chess. I have made this mistake before as well.
