How is that possible? You hit resign, and then CONFIRMED the resign, and then ran screaming OMG!!! I DID IT BY ACCIDENT!!!
that's what he is asking for: a confirm resign button
I have it every time I offer a draw or resign...(only resigned 1 game, which I would have won on time if I didn't resign but I didn't know that until later...)
the confirm resign is only on the app.
That is not true because I only use the site atm
then you use magic, too
Every fricking time I offer a draw or attempt to resign it asks me to confirm it. I'm using v2. Like you should be too.
or you could slow down and pay attention.
True.

Not true. I have done it so many times on my phone while scrolling the moves. There is no confirmation
I was winning but then when I was trying to click focus mode I hit the resign button by accident and I lost a lot of points.

lol the exact opposite
He'll find it when he sneezes.

True this has happened too many times to me. Once I was playing two thirty minute games at once and was completely lost in one so I resigned but it made me resign the other game!
I don't even know where the resign button is but somehow I pressed it and as I was trying to navigate around, chess.com told me that I resigned... I was winning by a lot too

The majority of these forum posts are from circa 2018 when this feature likely didn't exist, but now chess.com have a "resign confirmation" option. If you want, go to "settings" to enable it. With it on, resigning will take 2 clicks instead of one so accidentally resigning would be far less likely.
Personally, most of my games are shorter and I've never accidentally resigned yet - so I don't enable it. One misclick and I might accidentally resign someday! It is a nice feature to have available though. I'd especially enable this if you play longer live games often. I'd hate to play a one hour game and then misclick the resign button randomly.

Just done this myself for the second time, both from winning positions (first time, mate in 2, this time +14 score):

Would've taken me to my highest rating in 10 years!
The reason it occurs - the resign button is next to the "cycle back" button, and the confirm button comes up in the exact same place!
Awful design ... was just playing on my tablet on the chess.com website, using "analysis mode" to map out some moves in a daily chess game. Was pressing the back arrow to cycle a few moves back, guess I accidentally touched the resign button located <1 cm below the arrow, game over .. no pop up message or anything. Awesome.
