Don't overthink chess people make it out to be very hard in which yes sometimes it can be but if you are on the path to learning thinking about how hard something is going to be only another mental obstacle. I would recommend you first start with how the pieces move and the rules of the game, and beyond that comes principles, the principles are very important as if you know those they can help you navigate through the game better.
