don't be angry, see where you can improve in your games

@kewlkidjeff don’t worry, I’m not really angry :)

The word refuted is wrong, it's the worst neutralise you need to look at it, engines easily neutralise the Kings Gambit, and you just have to study the lines so that you get out of the opening in a decent position and not a lost one, I've stuggled against it and I'm starting to study how to play against it as well. Also Fischer playing the Kings's gabmit is not relevant, engines have taken over chess and his opponents did not have the luxery to study such nuetralisations of this gambit.

Think you're in the wrong forum with this one happy.png

you ccan enjoy playing the kings gambit as long as you know anyone decently prepared will simply neutralise the gambit.

Sure, but that's the case for most openings that aren't the Spanish, Italian or Queen's Gambit....

But you do get games like this:

Only if ur opponent is noob

@cogadhintreach noob means “new player”, not bad player. My opp’s account is from 2010. QED, not a noob

Kudos to your opponent for not resigning "out of respect." If they had just quit after 10.Qxa5, you would have learned nothing from this game. As it was, you got an excellent lesson in what it takes to win a "won" game. It's not as easy as it sounds, is it?

@laskersnephew that is correct, though you’ll forgive me if I’m slightly less inclined to be told about what chess lesson I’ve learned from someone 300 points of rating lower than me.

Forgiven!

PromisingPawns

Lol. Why is he trying to improve if he cannot flex? I think that's totally fine as long as it's not at extremely rude level

Oh yeah, I'm sure you'd be open to soooooo much advice from a 1700, wouldn't you. Think your comments through, man. See how the guy I was talking to wasn't offended? Because it's a fair comment.

@fissionfowl I agree. There is no benefit to Qc7+. It allows black to develop a piece and make it hard for the white queen to escape.

Don't bother defending my feelings. If there's anything wrong with my comment, I can always learn!
