I beat ChatGPT at chess in 4 moves

ChatGPT, you need to learn the basic rules of chess.

Ironic that you move your queen through another piece and then assert your opponent does not know the rules of chess!

I just taught ChatGPT long multiplication.  (Sadly ChatGPT's long term knowledge is frozen, so what it learnt only persists in this single chat).

Unfortunately to get the discussion into a single screen grab involved shrinking the dimensions by a factor of 3, and it is on the border of readability. The first problem is 462 + 126 which it gets right. The second is 462 * 12 which it got wrong until I guided it through the intermediate steps.

I have just learnt a remarkable thing. There is a way to make ChatGPT much better at arithmetic. Here it is. Bear in mind this is a new conversation, so starts with exactly the same AI with the same knowledge as the one that I had to lead through the simple calculation above (and that wasn't my first try).
