I've never won a game of chess with "intellectualism".
I can hoenstly say I'm disgusted

By how many games I've lost to much inferior opponents by pressuring me into defeat.
If you want to win games without intellectualism, but by thug tactics.. I guess that's the kind of player you are
Care to provide an example of a game with thug tactics?
I am sure that the true intellectuals will appreciate your elucidations and will endeavor to eschew them.

As a new member who intends no ill....yet understands that chess can be reflective of life... the fault lies with he who allows others to dictate said defeat(s)....life would not judge "them" as inferior, me thinks. .....just saying

Every time my opponent tells me that I am bad at chess, my queen immediately disappears. Also, my ability to disable chat and ignore him magically disappears.
Have you ever heard of the Thug Opening? It's for black and goes like this: e4, e5, Nf3, Nc6, Nc3, and then Black plays his insult card, which reads: Wow, what a noob! This card deals 20 damage to white and might cause the white chess player to go in a fit of rage and complain about it to other people.

Also, "hoenstly" I think the people who do that shouldn't be doing it but you shouldn't really care about what they're saying.

I am assuming by "thug tactics" you mean quick opening trap attacks. If I am right just know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I use to suck at defending those opening traps, now I am way better at it and now I know I suck in mid-game. lol. In all seriousiness, if I am right, you just have to read what they have set up and know what is coming. Common opening attacks are the Fried Liver Attack and the Scholar's Mate.
He means trash talking

I expect grandmasters to deal with thug tactics like a master in karate deals with thug tactics in the movies.

Thug tactics may be capturing all his pieces and Queening all pawns. Computer-Noob could be a more suitable challenge.

lookslikeblood; your gonna need that phrase in QUITE a few threads here. When you find out, let me know. On 2nd thought, NEVERMIND

Intellectualism denotes the use, development, and exercise of the intellect; the practice of being an intellectual; and the Life of the Mind.[1][2] In the field of philosophy, “intellectualism” occasionally is synonymous with “rationalism”, that is, knowledge mostly derived from reason and ratiocination.[3][4] Socially, “intellectualism” negatively connotes: single-mindedness of purpose (“too much attention to thinking”) and emotional coldness (“the absence of affection and feeling”).
Thats a long winded, important sounding answer to something you havent mastered.

"thug tactics" is when your opponent leans to the left while playing.
