I cannot win anymore

Hello everybody! Here is a little thread asking for advice. In April I managed to get to 1180 Elo or so which is the highest I always been able to reach. From may until now I can't win anymore. This is true to the point that I am now at the edge of 900. No matter what I play, I am making the silliest mistakes and I can't win anymore. What do you think it may be? What should I do? Thank you.

Take heart, somewhere there is a grandmaster asking himself the same questions. If you are still having fun, then keep playing, learning, and trying.

Maybe you're a little tired, maybe a little "scarico"... Many do not emphasize this aspect, but in chess the ability to stay focused is essential. A single distraction ( job, family, health… ), one thought on your mind that suddenly crops up and you're doomed.

In this period I play few games and therefore I dedicate myself to puzzles, which amuse me a lot and satisfy my daily need for chess. Well, here I clearly see how not being perfectly concentrated significantly affects the calculation skills. The same happens in the game, I guess.

I wouldn't worry.

In general, it's not easy to assess. Probably the best is to get a coach to watch you while you play, where you say out loud your thoughts. That will give him enough info to know what's wrong with your thoughts and your game.
