Have a good set of openings to use for white and black. A strong start can win the game. Also, read some more chess books.

you have played in the last three days and then past that not for the entire other 27 days.
of course you're not going to improve with this frequency of play.
I'm going to assume you don't do five puzzles every day either.
Improvement will happen when you put effort into improving. I would know, I was stuck at 800 for 8 years.
