How about feigned stupidity?

Avatar of pdve

feigned stupidity is pretty common as a tactic. i knew a girl for a fair period of time and always thought she was really dumb. then i found out that she was a member of Mensa with an IQ of 165

many people with high IQ are socially awkward, she probably behaved in a dumb way but not on purpose.

Sheldon Cooper has a high IQ and is socially awkward, but his stupidity is real and unintended.

Reflectivist - as a computer science student, I like that quote! May I use it?

As a software engineer myself, sure, why not?  I never heard it before so it is probably my original, but if not, it will not be the first time that time-traveling plagiarists have stolen an idea from me and then traveled back in time to the past to profit from it, making it very difficult for me to prove it was really my idea, and thus avoid me suing them for stealing it. (btw, just kidding). But if you use it in an international best seller, let me know and I will provide you with my PayPal address that you can give me a substantial donation if you are so inclined :-)

I was just going to append it to the end of my e-mails, but if I use it commercially and succeed (not likely that I'll ever write a book), sure you can have the credit for the quote (and cash)!

Well, I'm not a lawyer, but I'd say that henceforth any financial success you have is fair game and I should be able to lay claim to some small percentage of it.   But don't quote me on that.

And I'm not a lawyer either, but I say that you can only claim it if I use your quote to attain success! So There! Tongue Out

Seriously though, the statement in the title really is cool.

Seriously though: I wasn't serious.  I mean I was seriously kidding.  I mean it.  I'm serious.  I'm laughing.

I know, I know - but it was more fun to make a joke back than not to!
