Imagine a tennis player who has played religiously for 3 years, but double faults every game, and hits every second ball into the net or out.

I mean, just quit.

Heinz_Legend

They love the game and they enjoy playing with others around their skill level.

Imagine a dick who just will stay a dick for the rest of his life. I mean, you should just quit.

wanmokewan

If he's having fun, I wouldn't tell him to quit and I wouldn't think he should quit.

You have played OVER 40,000 games, and you are rated about 1500.  You should be quite proud of yourself.

we kind of all are. some of us at least want to educate them scrubs here once in a while, if they open enough to listen.

darkunorthodox88

when i was a up and coming scholastic player quickly scaling the class ratings, getting the opinion of anyone above 2000 was a BIG deal. like the equivalent of getting a war story from a veteran. we just werent "important" enough to warrant the wisdom unless they were your coach or something. many strong players have for better or worse a "ratism" complex which make us stay away from weak players. We dont learn much from them after all.

now you see weak players thinking they manure dont stink. the internet makes people brave.

having said all that i think OP should try to understand. not every activity is done with an overly competitive gain to it. so long as the weak player doesnt go about holding some suspect view as gospel and misinforming everyone even casual players are vital to the health of chess communities. maybe that weak adult will die below 1200 but maybe he inspired some scholastic player who became master. besides at least in american chess , it is those class players and their non-master sections that often keep the open section profitable for TD'ds
