Live Chess is actual chess...

Online chess is for like...old people.  No offense.

btw...I play chess in real life and have an 1824 uscf rating.

Although my USCF has plummeted recently, it remains higher than yours. I'm old enough to get the senior discount at some restaurants. I prefer Correspondence chess, although I play plenty of bullet and blitz. 2 1 seems better at my age than 1 0. For blitz, I prefer 3 0 while using a mouse, and 5 0 on my iPad.

Ah, the ignorance of youth. No offense.

When I don't have a lot of time play chess but don't want a bullet/blitz, it's grteat to be able to jump on and make a move in an online game. It gives me something to look forward to throughout the day.

Honestly, it doesn't take a lot of ability to figure out the "point" of correspondence chess.  Try harder.

It's kind of like the difference between going to the movies or watching a movie on t.v.. Yes going to the movies is a better experience but it sure is alot less hassle to watch a movie on t.v..

I like to do both.

Online (correspondence) chess can be ideal for players who like to think things through. Obviously you wouldn't see the appeal of that.
