I found something more fun than chess:

I found an online computer program that lets me do position set up. I'm guessing it is expert strength, since it is powered by the host computer not mine and I can beat it 1/5 games if I tell it to think 1 second and I think 40 seconds per move.

I just set up 8 pawns and a knight on each side. It still beats me mercilessly, but at least I can understand it better and have a chance of learning and winning.

So that's it. Instead of playing chess against people of the same level, or being beaten at chess, I think I'll learn more from a simpler competition.

I just wish I could download the program so I could know I'll always have it even if they stop hosting it for free. The site is in German, though.

There are tons of computer programs that you can but with something like this on it.
