Congratulations bro
I got 2k elo in rapid

I don't believe you only been playing for 2 years... What are you looking for some type of emotional support

that one guy on every achievement thread, no jealousy here for sure
but congrats OP

I've gained 150+ USCF points in a single tournament before, so rapid growth at OTB isn't impossible. You just need to play a lot and play consistently. It's better to play higher-rated players (i.e. a section up from your rating range) to achieve this.

Yeah, it's hard to know how honest people are being... for example this person's first game they tried scholar's mate, so they obviously weren't 100% new... but looking at a few games, they were pretty bad, and even if they weren't taking the games seriously and were more like 1200 in the beginning, it's still a lot of improvement.
And like others who improved quickly, you can see they played tons of games and puzzles. Roughly 7000 games and 5000 puzzles in 1 year is a lot.
Looking at their history it was like this:
10 months of playing a lot
~12 months of little to no activity
~5 months of playing a lot
And the first month back (Feb of this year) in just 27 rapid games OP increased their rating 100 points. So even though they played very little on this chess.com account for about 1 year, I'm not convinced it was a year of no chess. It's still a lot of improvement though.

tl;dr
Like most people, they omit / twist details to make themselves look better... but it seems true they put in lots of hours and improved a lot in a short period of time.

I'm happy with my progress and hope, by some miracle, I will get to 2k FIDE one day.
Good luck

I did play some chess during that one year with little activity but it was just some blitz games on another site. Nothing serious, but I also stopped playing at my local chess club and didn't play in any OTB tournaments either, so for me I wasted one year when I could have really improved. So of course I didn't mention every single bit about my chess history, but it wasn't the point. I only wanted to show off a little and maybe even inspire other people not to give up on chess.
Finally, after about 2 years of playing chess from the scratch (I had one year break unfortunately, so summing up, I only played actively for like a year), I got to 2k rating in rapid. I only wish I had started playing chess when I was still a child, so I could have become successful and maybe even aim for a grandmaster title. Unfortunately, giving my age, I don't think I will ever be able to get to 2k FIDE rating. Anyway, I just wanted to boast a little, cuz when I started playing chess in 2021 I didn't even think about getting to this level so that's that. All in all, I'm happy with my progress and hope, by some miracle, I will get to 2k FIDE one day.
