Hey I agree with not having multiple accounts

Then you must acknowledge speedrunning is one of the reasons they are not allowed,  and why it is hypocritical and corrupt of chess.com to allow certain members otherwise.

And yet, if they are corrupt, you support their corruption by paying them money.

I just asked for a 2nd refund yesterday.   Only reason I gave them a subscription money again was foolish because I thought the trolls made a mimic account on me again and I wanted to differentiate myself as a real account with the start.   But now that i found out they ban people from the gam e for accidentally using profanity even thou they already hide the messages with their chat filter.  I'm utterly apalled again.  Even double disrespectful is the fact they have a new commercial with profanity in it.

Yeah, people can be unfortunate for sure with the chat, especially if they play a game with someone they know well. You can easily just forget yourself.

On the other hand, I've just disabled chat when I play random people. It can be pretty distracting, even without profanities, and I generally like to concentrate when playing a game.

So sue me for 2 years.   actually the internet was around long before then.  I think 1995 was the first year for quake 1 online which is arguably the first professional e-sport.  Before then we were doing lan parties.

Well, now you made me think about railgunning you back into the 90s.  That would be satisfying.

The fact that you remember LAN parties (it's an acronym) just makes the childish ideas you espouse even more incomprehensible.

they didn't have the rail gun in q1.    Explain what ideas I have that are childish and stop being a child...  the reason why multiple accounts are not allowed?   Arguing those facts make you suspicious to me.

You never played a mod?  Where do you think the railgun came from?  I guess next you are going to tell me that there's no such thing as a grappling hook in Doom or Quake? wink.png

I don't really need to go over why your ideas are childish...you already have half a dozen other posters a day telling you this across every topic you engage in.  Enjoy.

Heh, LAN parties. Old memories.

there was no such thing as a railgun in q1 bud.  And ya,  i didn't think so.  Get to the back of the line lol.     Multiple accounts are not allowed to help prevent rating manipulation.  remember this lesson of the current topic.

Oblivious.  I'm sure that many a long term poster is getting a chuckle out of your trying to imply that I am somehow pro-sockpuppet.  You don't seem to know what people are arguing half the time.

As for Doom and/or Quake, you're out of your depth.  Lol, you were wondering about exactly when eSports started.  I was actually standing 10 feet away from Thresh when he won the first sponsored event ever, and I interviewed John Carmack for Blues News to boot.  Scrub.

Now there is a big fat lie!

The internet didn't exist 30 years ago

See, if it weren't for him saying stuff like that, I'd find him more interesting. Lies that obvious can only come off as a desperate plea for attention.

Its a lie to say I've been gaming online for almost 30 years.   When online e-sports have existed for 28?  ?   So I was two years off is a blatent lie? And when before that we had lan parties and  And when online gaming has existed since the 80s?  ok bud...

You know whats terrible,  is you in a thread on the subject of mutiple accounts when you created your account for and I qauote "to test the effect new players have on ratings".  You are the very example of why multiple accounts are not allowed,  how ironic is that?  lol

It's kind of boring when everything you say is inaccurate. It means you do it on purpose. Maybe you feel like no one would bother interacting with you otherwise, or maybe you just like to provoke people... either way it's not interesting to me.

What is wrong with having multiple accounts?

In team matches you can join the other team to spy on their notes.

In games you can play one account against the other to manipulate ratings / tournament results.

In social situations you can use multiple accounts to pose as different people.

In general you can use multiple accounts to avoid mutes or bans for bad behavior.

Just off the top of my head.

I do not play teams. I did not do anything wrong and one of them is my brothers account.

Rules aren't about you as an individual, rules are about creating order among a large group of people. Because of this, rules often create some inconveniences for many people, but they remain the rules because the benefit outweighs the cost. To put it another way, it doesn't matter if you didn't use the 2nd account to harass or cheat.

In any case, if all it took to bypass the rules was the existence of a brother, then the rules would be pointless. Chess.com may make exceptions, maybe you can have two accounts on one device, but you have to make that request.

I played online 30 years ago. A popular online game was a MUD.

Then why keep replying?   And again i should tell you,  if you don't address my points, don't retort them in any way or make any points of your own,  you simply concede them.   And since you are trolling so hard you might of forgot the topic of this thread.  Multiple accounts are not allowed to help prevent rating manipulation.    Continue to troll me on that.  Your reason for making a new account is an example of this.

...says the guy that initially brought up eSports, the morals of speedrunning, chess.com ads, and how society views chess.

You need to contact support. I had the same problem and I contacted support and they thought I had 2 accounts. When I explained to them, they apologized, reopened my account and even gave me a diamond membership

I imagine people were playing text based chess back then no?

The topic of this thread is multiple accounts.   And why they are prohibited.  Now think about why you feel the need to follow me around from thread to thread and troll me over those things and what that says about you.

Way to tell yourself off.  Kudos.

I would just like to throw out my 2 cents here.

From what I have read in posts where CooloutAC is involved, he honestly just makes my blood boil.

I can't stand how irrational and childish his comments are and it makes me want to punch him in the face if I ever get the chance to meet him in person.

There I said it. To anyone who feels the same, just ignore him and don't fuel his idiocy please.
