I don't understand your point. I'm not concerned with how you feel about it or whether you want to play it; that is your business. But if you are going to try to make statements about bullet that are not opinions, you need a source. Did you talk to a titled player about it? Did you read something about it? You make claims without sources, for example that most bullet games are won on time. I tend to be a fast player (on good days), so about 56% of my wins are by time. On the other hand, about 30% of my losses are on time. I think that's because I'm fast so I tend to squeeze out wins when I shouldn't, but you can't assume everyone is like that. These stats of mine has been consistent since I was like 1300, so you can't argue that say, 1300s just flag all the time. So based on that, I don't think it's definitive that what you said is true unless you have a source.

I don't disagree with the tenet that claims need to be backed up by sources/facts/evidence, for at least non-opinion statements, how-ever, its context should imply that it was not meant to be an «objective» description since «feelings» are subjective; I gave my «reasoning» for why I don't play «Bullet» and it is simply not «fun» for me to «race against the Clock» (especially given all of the other already time-sensitive distractions/obligations in my life)... Bullet-Mode is simply not a «Real» Chess-Game/Mode for those like me (for how we «experience» Bullet-Mode) when Wins/Losses are more-often or at least frequently decided by the Clock than it is from actually making good moves...

Ok, so your original comment said that bullet is just about clicking fast and memorizing openings; that was the point which i was disputing. Seems that now you are revising your claim to a "milder" generalization, justifying your personal dislike of bullet, which I don't disagree with. So sure. I get why you don't like bullet. And I don't need a martial arts analogy to understand that lol. Many of my friends don't like bullet either; it seems to be a love/hate kind of thing.
What really seems to be random up to a pretty nontrivial level is ultrabullet. I have a friend who reached 1500+ bullet rating by playing, in large part, ultrabullet (not 30s hyper, i mean 10-15 second games). I played this person in four 1min games (at the time my bullet rating was in the 1630s) and it felt like playing a ~1200 bullet player. I was just deadwinning every time. And in some of them I was ahead of time -- not because my friend isn't fast, or because I'm fast (I can assure this person is WAY faster than me), but because being in losing positions slows you down just because you need to think to survive.

@spicychickenboba

hyper and ultrabullet quite literally require no skill aside from moving you mouse fast. I've seen grandmasters who can calculate 4-5 move combinations mid time scramble lose to random fide masters that spam moves faster. (namely @Orange_Ghost and @White_Ghost different people though)

1+0 bullet requires actual thinking probably past 1400

Haha yeah that is more or less the point i was making. I've played ultrabullet and it like is actually not chess

In addition to being strong hyperbullet players, both of those players have blitz peaks over 3000 (top 50 in the world). They aren't 'random' FIDE masters, they are two of the best online chess players period.

Then why are the best hyperbullet players also the best 1+0 players?

I have no idea......all I can tell you is, I've played ultra with my friends who are lower rated and our games are nonsense. My record with them is like even or worse than even because i dunno how.
maybe it's different at higher levels. i'd believe that...

Bullet chess isn't real chess, but it's definitely a fun format to play. at lower levels, most bullet players just randomly move pieces around without knowing what they're trying to do. Experienced bullet players always have some kind of plan even when they're required to move fast which comes with time and experience. However, I've seen even GM's and other titled players suck at bullet inspite of them having great ratings at slower time controls.

Yep, especially older titled players often struggle with bullet. I've seen people with like NM or CM title and a bullet rating of like, 1800, or even 1600 (1604 to be exact).

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I can defeat Garry Kasparov in bullet 10-0

Ilampozhil25

most of everyone is making a mistake

the words "bullet" and "chess" imo shouldnt be combined without contrast in a sentence

yes, i also hate bullet

koth makes it decent though

and 1|5 isnt bullet (its the main time control in, say, chaturaji and there people have to think to win)
