I really do like chess.com now.

I am not sure when this was added, it may have been in v2, I only found out about it a few days ago.

I did know that you could block people by just hovering over their name and selecting block, I knew that it stops them sending you private messages and other things like match making for games, etc.

What I did not know was that it also blocks certain people from posting anything in any forum topic that you create.

In the past I had problems on the forums, every thread would soon become a complete mess, rude people, trolls, spammers, "experts", etc

But now it's cool.

You are trolling your own thread.

Have you read your own entry posting and then you block the only one answering.

Obviously you have no clue what you are complaining about and no skill to communicate with other people. According to your entry post obviously you are happy to be able to misuse the blocking-possibility but still complaining about it.

Furthermore your profile is like a blueprint for people being here with a second or third account and I bet you have another user here!

As you can see the troll changed it's original comment.

But that is all that the troll can do, it can only change that one comment, nothing else.

Best to press quote when you catch a troll, then the original worthless comment is still visible.

Seems fair to me, a rude person, troll or spammer posts something stupid on your topic, so block them and name and shame them when you do it.

Note that you should not take the bait.

That is what a troll wants, for you to respond.

Just use a blanket response for every troll, no matter the comment.

Do not even acknowledge their existence, once they have been blocked ...

They basically no longer exist.

Creating a forum topic should perhaps be done with a degree of responsibility.

A person that creates a forum topic should perhaps be in effect the moderator of that topic.

Unless of course that they don't mind total carnage and chaos.

how many people have you blocked?

Not that many man.

I only found out about it a month ago.

At first I was blocking often, the heavy trolls, spammers and rude people.

Then it settled down, I would say in total about 2 or 3 dozen during the past month.

All my topics are very clean now, I used to close my account on chess.com in the past because everything was just a complete mess on the forums.
