Center Checkmate: I literally just checkmated my opponent in the CENTER — is this even normal?

Just finished a 3|0 blitz game. Somehow… I checkmated my opponent right in the center (e4)!

It wasn’t a planned tactic—what a surprise.What do you think?

Was it a huge blunder by my opponent, or did I actually set a clever trap?
