Got the following abusive message in my inbox this morning:

"listen ass hole i wasnt posting my game like it was a great game, i thought newer people would enjoy it, and as i said to others it's an oldie but goodie,= neaning nothing great and, no bodys got any reason to put down someone elses playing, espialy when there book moves, u punks know nothing, why dont u stay off my page and group. what i said wasnt and out burst  this is,lol. ass"

Sad part is this dweeb is like 52, rising 53 (same age as me, for that matter) and he had the stones to flame me like this but blocked me from replying. Laughing Laughing Laughing

There's no excuse for that kind of behavior !  I remember commenting on his thread yesterday & his reaction to other posts was completely out of proportion there. If you're going to post games that are riddled with poor moves then grow a thick skin because better players will take them apart.

With over five million members on this site, a small percentage are going to be like this I'm sorry to say but there's never an excuse for uncivil behavior.

Edit:  Now I think about it, he still hasn't got back to me regarding the comment I left about his a3 move!  That says it all    Wink

And as I said in the thread (which I now appear unable to post in, I wonder why), if you're going to post a game of yours in order to lol at your opponent falling for your cunning trap, I feel you've rather lost the moral high ground.

Never mind. My shoulders are broad enough to cope with a little bad manners. Laughing

No, it wasn't a game I lost - he posted a game he won from someone else, then some other poster remarked that the chess in that game was horrible (harsh but fair). OP then flames out on the commenter, I happen by, mention that I think the guy's behaviour is a disgrace (also harsh but, I felt, fair again) and I wake up this morning to find the message above in my inbox. I was blocked from replying to the PM and, apparently, from posting in the thread, so I felt like a mild vent.

Here's the thread.

And why wouldn't you? We civil 50somethings must set an example to the youngsters, after all. Laughing

Walter0508

Haha, "loling" is the best way dealing with such childish behaviour, I suppose. As for your wonderinging he's being the same age, not all of the kiddies are quite honest with their day of birth signing in on a website. You don't have to hand in a copy of your ID. Wink
