This is a 10 minute blitz game.I had a very good position in the middle game(can't understand why most people dislike caro-kann) but couldn't utilize it to the full extent. Can anyone show how could I have cashed my position earlier?

i don't know. pretty sloppy at times (as you commented on). sometimes it seems you were too focused on the queenside. maybe 17...f6 would allow you to control both ends of the board. first real blunders i see are on move 40 and 41: 41 qh6+ kg8 42 nf6+ nxf6 exf6 with mate next move

tony, I'm not posting on the same threads as you on purpose. i swear

@psyduck, yes 40 Qh6 would have been fatal.

Doesn't 17... f6 weaken my e6 pawn terribly, especially when his rook is on e-file,and the e5 square would be a nice outpost for the White knight later.

Thanks yeres and Estragon for your valuable inputs.

10. ...cxd4 seems better now. However can you tell me what kind of attack white can put on the kingside and how to defend them?

@achja,chessmicky; Thanks for the suggestions. In the 3 years, since I have played this game, I have learnt some of my mistakes, like, how passively I played from the move 10...c4, and how I ignored my king safety while going for the queenside. If my opponent played better, I would have been checkmated before I could even open the queenside. Infact, my play has completely evolved, and I no longer use the carokann or the french.
