Besides, winning on time, because you can't win any other way, is so pre-1995.
Winning on time is as legitimate as any other way, imo. Time is a fundamental component of the game. Sure you can be in a great position but be destroyed by the clock. That could mean your higher quality moves were the result of the excessive time you put into them.

I've won games with 00.1 on my clock, I've lost games with 00.1 on my clock. Sometimes time isn't on your side. And sometimes it is!

I think you lost fair and square because you cannot manage your time well.
