Strong mentality be like that

Sometimes you need to stop and think "how can I solve this" instead of griping about it.

I’m trying to understand, as my grandkids have the same argument about points on their tablet games. They get emotionally and physically upset when their points go away ... Yet the points have no real-world value. They cannot be traded for anything. Is it a pride issue?  Bragging rights?  If I were a top rated competitor where my points equal my ability to feed my family (or even get accepted to major tournaments where I could sell my brand), the points would then have actual value.

In this case, my recommendation would be to keep training and enjoy the journey.

old people, deep down, they are kids too, they did not change at all, when you see a 2-3 years old kid playing with his cool toy car, it's exactly the same with a 50+ years old man driving his new shining car.

it's also the same with a 5 years old kid building a sandcastle and a growing man with a nice big house.

according to psychology almost every single human being is a child

It’s competition. When you are ahead of the pack in something, that you are better than the rest, that’s why people care about points that otherwise don’t have value to anyone else.

That would explain why people quit when losing points. You have to stay ahead to win.

BlindThief

Why get worked up over points. Just focus on knowing the game better, and points will come. But always, there will be better and worse players than you. Unless your name is Blind, in which case you just spit hot fire.

That’s how some people view chess.

Rating points is competition and pride. When I drop to a lower hundred points (like 1900-1800 for example) I feel like my status isn’t so nice, almost as if I got degraded. Which is why I drop even more! happy.png

If you were trying to stalk my hobbies you completely failed because I no longer play it.

I don't play roblox, but I played the early days and think how much it sucks. I only play to play Doom.

When I played roblox I only played phantom forces, because honestly that’s one of the very few games that actually feel like a game (you can even run, unlike most other games). Murder mystery was another but I didn’t like it. Eventually I picked up chess and stopped
