I recommend if you are 1000 rated and want to get up there fast,here's a hint,buy Rapid Chess Improvement,follow the training courses to the tee in the book,second solve alot of mate in one,mate in two and mate in threes,next buy traps zaps volume one and two,next get Secrets of Opening Suprises,next get a basic endgame book,that contains all endings,mostly study alot of tactics before working on openings,granted you may also want to play against chess players 100-200 rating points, also have your wins,loses,and draws analyzed by a chess program or your opponent,make note and then you may want too buy a book call Amature's Mind by Silman read that only when you have mastered the tactic program in Rapid Chess Improvement!! Im telling you watch your rating increase up too 400-700 points in ratings!!
