For clarification purposes, the last two times I referred a friend, I received a badge to acknowledge this. Is this still done?

I've referred at least 10 friends and have never gotten any kind of anything.

I made a joke once and did not receive credit for the joke. I hate that.

They have to follow your referral link or put your username in as the referral when creating an account. Not 100% sure the latter is still there but if they don't do that, you won't get credit for it.
