If you enjoy the game, don't worry so much about the results. Look at all those golfers that shoot 110+.

   Isn't 110 a little high for 9 holes ?

You sound a lot like me!

I play in otb tournaments and in a period of a few years I lot most of my games and hated loosing after 4 hours of play. I almost gave up and was just as cruel to myself as you are!

I continued studying. Lost more games, but suddenly the frequency of wins improved. I got promoted to a higher league and once again I had a lot of loses. But I am still in the league and going for the next promotion!

Continue to study, let chess.com's users help you choose the correct material and enjoy the path of improvement.
Maybe someone should look at your games and give you an idea if you need book like "Reassess Your Chess" or begin with an easier book like "Logical Chess move by move".

True, I just hate the fact that this bad record will follow me.

this ain't a college grade point average dude.  the record of your wins and losses on this site means next to nothing in the short term and even less in the long term.  seriously, don't let fear prevent you from playing lots of games, experimenting with different ideas to try on the board and win or lose just having fun playing this great game.  i see too many get too uptight over the outcome of a few games and it actually hinders your goal of getting better in the long term.  develop, protect, attack--in that order, learn from your mistakes and most of all have fun.  if it's not fun for you to try to set up a combination or work your way out of a bad position, like solving a puzzle, then perhaps chess might not be suitable for you.  good luck in your future games.

great advice

i suk too... lose alot... just try to learn something, even when u lose. cause if u do learn something, no matter how small, those thing will accumulate. and if u are accumulating, how then did u lose? dont play for a record or a rating in the beginning.  thats not important. play to accumulate, the rest will take care of itself.  good luk

You think you suck, my game has gone to pieces lately. Take a look at my last game, a real classic of how to turn an unbeatable position into defeat.

Even my opponent could not believe it.Frown

Doesn't matter though, I will be playing again today and who knows, I might even win Smile
