That would indeed be fantastic! Would not be easy I'm sure but i would enjoy the idea of working toward a title.
I suggest that Titles should be adwarded to Correspondence Chess players here!!

I think it's a great idea, but how do you address the possibility of cheating in pursuit of a title?

Yeah, maybe, since CC is not played live anyway. However, this would mean losing a lot of freedoms for Erik and perhaps other players in an effort to standardize everything and make it more fair. It may also mean allowing engines since they can't be completely detected and eliminated, which I don't support. Plus, I'm sure that it would create a lot of administrative hassles and add a layer of bureocracy that may not help this site in the future.
However, there OTB titles, by definition and for countless other reasons should NEVER be offered through online play.

I hate to say this, but im only being honest, if Chess.com starts awarding titles, then Cheating will rear its ugly head, please dont reward high ratings, its counter productive!

Ditto! Anybody who needs a title should go and play in a real OTB tournament. i think a person's ranking on chess.com should be enough motivating factor.
yes of all of your response are great, but how does CC tournaments like ICCF and USCF detect CC players from cheating ,there really isnt and you all are right cheating would go through the walls, but like i said other places cant detect cheaters any way and OTB still has cheaters in The World Open!!

Are you saying that chess.com should condone the use of programs?
Why not just call it chessengine.com?

Chess.com has highly developed state-of-the-art cheating detection al-gorithms and has an extremely high success rate for detecting, catching, and banning such cheaters.
!!!?!!

I agree. The ICCF now has online webbased chess correspondence with a poor interface and the USCF is rolling out an online CC also. They are charging money on a per game basis and I see no reason that chess.com cannot devour these sites overnight with the better interface. The USCF CC is not even recognized by FIDE, but self proclaimed.
The ICCF allows computers so there is no cheating. The current USCF (postal or web based) is based on an honor system. Either could be implemented at chess.com tomorrow and be no worse than the existing systems.
I support and suggest that Correspondence players earn titles,If USCF,ICCF and many other correspondence chess sites do,chess.com should start holding events to earn titles and send invitation to the strong players that have the rating and skills to play in these prestige events!! chess.com is a wonderful site and is great to play correspondence,I just hope that someday in the near future the offer to the players of this community to earn IM,NM,FM,WGM or GM titles,If it cost a fee im willing to pay it on here,(being that it's a resonable fee! So who's with me on this!! Let's try to get chess.com to do this and me this site better than any chess site!!
