I read a thread the other day saying that unless a stronger player is coaching a weaker player, the weaker one will not learn much from the games.
Well, I'm playing against a computer program that always beats me, and I think I learn plenty. At least, I'm well aware of how much positional problems it is causing me. I also see some fantastic combos 3 moves before the damage is done. However, but the time I see them it is too late to stop them. In the last game I played against it, it let me trade down to a bishop vs bishop endgame. I thought I actually had a chance of drawing. Then it showed just how powerful a bishop is. It easily tied down my bishop, kept my king away, and then sacrificed itself so a pawn could break through and queen. Beautiful. I would think I learned something from that.
