OK, I would like to take the opportunity to address this whole "no personal attacks" business, cuz (frankly) I'm tired of being enmeshed in this Age of Wienieness. I think it's high time to jazz this so far pretty boring century up. Anyway, I figure I can take anything that gbidari (or anybody else) can dish out, and I assume he's constructed similarly (although as I understand it he maybe does find it a little difficult to make friends at times).

A little mudslinging now and then is invigorating, and keeps the place from turning into hushed Antiseptic Halls where nothing much goes on. Such antics have long been a part of chess, and everything else (politics, for example...). So loosen up the reins a bit there, you Steeds at the Home Office, will ya?

Whoooo! Don Rickles for President! (amazingly, I am completely sober as I write this...hm, maybe I never really needed the booze).

one more comment like that and i am blocking you.  (seems like that is the way people attack each other around here, but it doesn't sound any less lame when i say it.)

ivandh

I am blocking you for threatening to block someone. You can be unblocked by writing a 500-word essay about why waffles are better than pancakes, prank calling a member of the upper house of the government of your choice, slaying the hydra, eating an entire slice of spam, and singing the F-U-N song.

MyCowsCanFly

I am preemptively blocking Don Rickles.

While I'm at it, I'm also going to block Celine Dion and Barry Manilow...and that Shamwow guy...and that insurance lizard.

Hilarious!

planeden

i had dinner at the waffle house last night, isn't a dinner worth 1000 words or something?

ilikeflags

it would take me long enough to figure out how to block someone that it would no longer be worth it.

heinzie

What did you order? Pancakes?

ilikeflags

i get bored fast

ivandh

I don't block anybody. Having high blood pressure is much too entertaining to pass up.

The word "friend" means more as I get older, but I do understand the obviously limited meaning it has on the internet. So I'm far from creeped out by the request. I simply ask "Why", or, "Do I know you?". Maybe they just like what you've said in the forums, gbidari.

If that doesn't make them think twice, nothing will.

Are you on facebook? Laughing

Hey RDR, come over to St. Pierre et Miquelon. Its where I went to avoid my stalker.

I looked it up. It seems like a really neat place.

But you pretty much blew it by posting that idea in this public forum. My stalker would figure that out in around sixty seconds.

ivandh

Ah, see, my stalker is not that quick

no kidding.  i don't even (want to) know what all blocking means.

heinze - are you trying to get me in more trouble?  it had waffle in the name of the restaraunt, isn't that good enough?

blackfirestorm

Thing that creeps me out is when you get random new members to the site requesting your friendship... Immediately I look to see if they are in any groups I am in and if not then I have to question WHY

ivandh

Yes, they can sense your aura (which totally isn't creepy at all is it?)

blackfirestorm

I would rather they add a few words to their requests though I am not into adding for the sake of adding

LOL the way you made it sound WAS freaky Laughing

gbidari

I don't know why my post got censored. Was it the part where I said Tonydal needs to lighten up, or was it the part where I suggested he find a giant spatula to remove his lips from the corporate buttocks of chess.com? (Although I didn't use the word buttocks.)
