Reminds me. Many years ago a friend and I started to make the Lewis set from plaster casts. I still have a bishop as an ornament. After making a few pawns, at my insistence, we went outside to perform 'quality control' . I wanted to see how robust they were. We chucked them at the wall as hard as we could could. When they chipped I became disenchanted at the 'robustness' of the pieces - ridiculous really. We then stopped making them.
As you can see my avatar is the King from the Isle of Lewis chess set. I love this set and duplicate copies of this set are sold but have I no place in my home to put it as my entire kingdom consists of just one room. So I was wondering is it possible to buy just one piece of this set, the king. If anyone has one for sale or knows where they sell individual pieces from this set, please contact me.
