"How do I train back up?" ++ Outdoor physical exercise to boost stamina.
'Above all else, before playing in competitions a player must have regard to his health, for if he is suffering from ill-health he cannot hope for success. In this connection the best of all tonics is 15 to 20 days in the fresh air, in the country.' - Botvinnik
From now till the tournament, do not play chess at any time control different from that of the tournament. You can play a few practice games of the same time control against a strong engine.
Hi All. I am a senior year student, and I found that my interest in chess dropped after qualifying last year but not having the funds to go (+ the school would not subsidize the trip). In my mind, I peaked, and I did tournaments for fun this year, and my team just qualified for the Nationals again!
I've played since primary, and at my peak, I was 1600 last year. How do I train back up?! Any tips and tricks are appreciated. (I may play at a 2000 rated when playing at 25 min like at nats(I beat a jm not to long ago earlier this year)
