Ive gone from 1964 to 1770 in a week, so yea it happens. What i noticed is most of my losses were caused simply by fatigue. Maybe id get home from work and start playing, which isnt a great idea because most of the time im already tired as heck from work. Also noticed most of my losses were coming at night, so i started to avoid playing at those times as well. It could aslo be tactical reasons for losses. I notice during times i struggle i have a tendency to be worrying about my speed instead of focusing on actually winning the game.

The point is you should look for reasons why you could be struggling and then work on that.

So true i would also add that if you are having Financial or Marital or a host of other Problems that you may have little or no control over may effect the way you play this mental game. If you are in a "comfort" zone in your life and you still play poorly well then you just SUCK !!    Cool

I wonder how much of these sudden drops are just a statistical fluctuatin effect. If winning and loosing were just a coin toss, one could evaluate the likelihood of successive coin tosses being mostly tails, which would correspond to a series of loosing games. If you play N games, accumulating square root of N losses should be expected. For 2500 played games this would be 50 accumulated losses, i.e. on average about -350 points. The large fluctuations in ratings therefore do not necessarily mean that you play unusually badly, rather just that you play a lot and you are experiencing statistical fluctuations.

Alot are people tilting.

Those kind of fluctuations happen to me as well. Sometimes alcohol is involved, sometimes a simple ‘tilt.’ In the future I hope to have the maturity to take a break from rated games when I’m playing badly (for me).
