What's the point of "opening up new strategies" when the current ones range from simple to impossibly complex and are so numerous you haven't even seen them all once yet?

If you like learning new games instead of mastering ones you already know, there are tons of chess varients and chess-like games out there already... just so you don't get too discouraged if people (like me) aren't very interested in rule changes for chess.

I think that's called napoleon chess :)

lol, I'm sure u had a game u wanted to do that, then game to vent on the forum. 

like shell knight said, there are already tons of chess variants, one of which I can guarantee inolves allowing you to take your own pieces, and you can't just change chess, you must be talking hypothetically.
